However, a van stops and a gang brutally assaults Adam and rapes Alice. While driving back home in a lonely cobblestone road in the middle of the night, Alice hits a moose and the couple parks the car to remove the wounded animal from the road. A don't do this or this might happen element which adds to the tension but there's nothing of the sort here. The rape itself is disturbing although we are treated to not just one showing of it but two the second time, it is shown through the eyes of Anderson's attacker. The incident turns them into fearful recluses until Alice spots the leader of their attackers Anthony Calf -- and the two victims plot a brutal revenge. If there is an intended message, it isn't at all clear.
Never mind mate, you'll only improve. They are out to get their own kind of justice, planning very carefully to get a gang of unsuspecting men right where they want them. What are independent British filmmakers going to make of your artistic judgement? I guess though you're only as good as the script you are given, and I'd like to warmly thank the writers, the producers, the director and all of the cast for wasting 90 minutes of my life and some perfectly good electricity. After encountering a group of locals on a country road, a shocking incident takes place that sees Adam lose an eye whilst Alice is brutally raped. A month passes, during which Adam and Alice physically heal but both remain emotionally wounded. Horrified, Alice runs away; driving back to her father's home, Alice spots Sophie hitch-hiking, and invites her into her car.

While driving back home in a lonely road in the middle of the night, Alice hits a deer and the couple parks the car to remove the wounded animal from the road. A month later, they are still recovering from the events of the day. Everybody has a breaking point, and some act on it, as the couple in this movie did. In the film, Alice Gillian Anderson and her husband Adam Danny Dryer are coming home from an extravagant party when their car breaks down in the woods. She brings the car to a stop, and they drag the stag off the road.
One month later, Adam is impotent with Alice, has awful scars in his face and a blind eye and the traumatized Alice returns to her work. Upon arriving at the classy soirée the pair immediately discover that they share an exhilarating sense of sexual chemistry, eventually wandering off alone for some highly charged sex. With justice having been done, the film ends abruptly, leaving the viewer to ponder what they would have done in the same situation. On the way home from the party, Alice and Adam are caught behind a slow-moving vehicle, which Alice frustratedly overtakes whilst Adam shouts out an obscenity at the driver. Straightheads was re-released on 13 June 2011 with new cover art.
However, there isn't really any substance to these scenes. She realizes his intention is to kill himself and after grabbing the rifle she rushes to his house. Dyer has definitely been a little miscast here and it does make you wonder whether it could have been better with a different leading man. Adam Dyer is just getting his career off of the ground, so when the beautiful, older, and much more professionally experienced Alice Anderson invites him to a party, he readily accepts. For the most part, the violence in this movie was implied rather than shown.
Storyline: Closure 2007 After the installation of an alarm system by the twentythree year old lowclass Adam in her fancy upper class apartment, the sophisticated owner Alice invites him to go with her in her boss opening house boring party in the countryside. In which case, it won't disappoint. Ultimately this movie is a hollow experience. A lavish country party that should have been the best night of their lives unexpectedly begets a shocking cycle of violence for a confident career woman and her handsome young love interest in this brutal and unforgiving thriller starring Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer. But then it started to get better about 50 minutes into the movie because things start to happen that are relatively entertaining, but some of the scenes are really unnecessary at times.
Alice shows Adam the contents of her father's locked chest: a sniper rifle and silencer that her father apparently smuggled home after being discharged from the army. I wouldn't recommend it, but if u want to see a thriller and your bored, then go ahead and give it a chance because Gillian Anderson pulls off a pretty good performance as a victim out for revenge. In today's society we find that many directors will walk that fine line between cliché and original. On the return journey however, our loving couple make the mistake of angering a van full of psychos in an extreme case of road rage. Although the police are working to find the culprits, they do not seem to be having any success.
I appreciate, say, 'Demented' for it's ineptitude and 'Last House on the Left' for it's sheer unashamed brutality. If derivative and predictable rape-revenge thrillers are your thing, then you're in for a rare treat. A wealthy businesswoman Gillian Anderson and her newly acquired working class lover Danny Dyer are viciously attacked while on a drive the woods. It went on general retail release on 24 September 2007. Soon after, Adam accompanies Alice to the man's house where they spot all three of their assailants. Alice then tells Adam that she intends to avenge herself against Heffer.
There is instant chemistry between Alice Gillian Anderson , a businesswoman, and Adam Danny Dyer , a younger working-class man who installs a security system in her London apartment. Are we supposed to now feel the same? However, a van stops and a gang brutally assaults Adam and rapes Alice. On the way home, she passes by a group of riders on horseback, one of whom she recognizes as having raped her. Alice meets Adam and convinces him to come with her to take revenge against the violent man. This seemed slightly gratuitous to me.
I'd say next time he should stick to the formula for the type of film he's making instead of trying to be too clever and he'll have a quality movie on his hands. I bought this dvd off from amazon yesterday or last night. Adam dates Alice and has a dream night in the fashionable party inclusive having sex with her. But the movie revolve's around couple who goes on a revenge killing spree on the attackers who assault and raped the husband's wife. Several weeks later, Alice crosses paths with one of their attackers. I personally thought this was a very intense and in your face movie. Gillian Anderson proves herself yet again to be a superb actress that not only can bring you into the story line, but also let you into the feelings that her character is.
